Dr. Yoder Milton is an educator, mentor, author, and entrepreneur. She was born in Nigeria and was raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Bethune-Cookman University and received her Masters and Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She is married and has one daughter. She is a passionate educator and is an advocate for all children, especially children in underserved communities. She is enthusiastic about serving her community and being an impactful change agent. She is the founder of her nonprofit organization Girls with Class Mentoring Inc. where she empowers young ladies in 3rd-12th grade to be the best version of themselves. These ladies are mentored and monitored past high school. Additionally, she is the CEO of her own educational consulting business Striving for Success Inc. Striving for Success offers author engagements, tutoring, and college/career readiness services. During her leisure time she enjoys reading, shopping, vacationing, and spending time with her family.
Naija Girl is a realistic-fiction story about a 10-year-old Nigerian American girl that travels to Nigeria to pay respects to her grandma. Her trip is bitter-sweet as she meets family members and explores a taste of her homeland. This story captures Nigeria’s culture as Naija girl learns more about her heritage.
