Mika Mack was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. She is a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of two who loves to read, tell stories and help people. Computerized Accounting pays the bills, but her true passion is working with children and people with disabilities.
When her children were younger, she frequently made up stories and songs to entertain them. Now a grandmother, she has decided to share her work outside of her family, hoping to bring joy to others.
While Mika never went to school to be a writer, her lifetime of telling stories and raising kids gave her the confidence that she could write a successful children’s book.
Even though she hopes Malika’s Special Visit will be a commercial success, her real hope is that the story can make a difference in a child’s life. Mika hopes that kids understand that being different is a thing to embrace and not be ashamed of. She also wants to make sure children know their words have power and feel comfortable talking with adults when they have a problem.
