Ada’s Wash Day is a sweet and empowering story that follows Ada and her Mama on their weekly hair washing routine. Mama teaches Ada to care for her kinky, curly, coily hair, and Ada learns to love and accept her crown - just the way it is. In the process, Mama learns a little bit about herself too. The book deftly navigates the themes of bullying, self love and natural hair love, and reminds us that self love is the key.
